What documents should I bring for tax prep?
Here’s a checklist to make your appointment smooth:

- Photo ID (for new clients)
- Social Security numbers for you, spouse, and dependents
- Bank account info for direct deposit

Can I deduct medical expenses, charity, or home office costs?
- Medical expenses: Deductible only if you itemize and they exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income.
- Charitable contributions: Deductible if you itemize and donate to a qualified charity; keep receipts for gifts over $250.
- Home office: Available if you’re self-employed and use a dedicated space regularly for business. Not available for W-2 employees under current law.
